Project ONE: Book cover, due April 2, 2020.
Format: MLA, typed double space, font 12.
Extension: 1 – 1 ½ pages maximum, NO more than that.
NOTE: Since we cannot go out, to do this project you can pick a book
cover of a book that you already have, or visit Barnes & Nobles, Borders,
etc. to check for book covers.
Go to any bookstore in town, scan book covers, and pick one that catches
your eye. After analyzing the cover in terms of design, colors, etc., read the
back cover of the book in order to have an idea what the book is about, and
see if there is a connection between the cover and its content. Your
reflection paper should be around this connection. In theory, a book cover
should reflect what the content is about. However, as the popular saying
goes: . Take a picture of it, and
then write a 1 – ½ page reflection expressing why it impacted you and/or of
its possible symbolism(s) or meaning(s), if there is any. Also, think if the
color has some type of symbolism related to do the topic of the book. In
your essay, you should mention if the book cover is in color or black and
white if you cannot attach a color copy to your essay.
