Sketches are a great beginning for developing design ideas. For this assignment you will be creating concept designs for a business logo.
Create 20 logo concept sketches using the information from the course so far. Use line, shape, negative space, value, and perspective as necessary. Do not use words! These should all be image-based logos only. Just make random logos that look good. You will be drawing this and scanning the picture with adobe scan.
Words, fonts, titles, and descriptions will not be considered as part of your 20 submissions.
For example, the image below uses values and negative space to create a simplified version of a game controller.
A simplified image that uses sketch elements to tell what the company is or does or what product it offers is ideal.
Create those 20 thumbnail sized (approximately 2 to 3 inches) logo concepts on a single page of your sketch book. Sketch each one as cleanly as possible, but they dont have to be perfect. Don’t erase. Move on to a different idea. Look at what you’ve sketched in those earlier ideas. Build upon them. Simplify the detail.
Appropriate use of the sketch principles is more important than perfect lines. These are just concept ideas.
