And indeed, unintentional injuries are the leading cause of death for people under the age of 40. However, most students will live past 40, and only a very few will die from an unintentional injury. Unless this class is quite different from the total population, the most frequent cause of death will be heart disease. Although a risk factor analysis is not completely accurate in predicting cardiovascular diseases, this type of analysis can alert people who are at high risk for this and other chronic diseases.
