UA English Composition II Pricing of Prescription Annotated Bibliography This assignment is to complete and annotated bibilography using 4 library databases but none being from google or any “.com” sites. THE ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY ASSIGNMENT
An annotated bibliography is a list of sources accompanied by a paragraph of summary of the
content of the source. The other handouts in this section will help you with the parts of the
annotated bibliography (including summarizing sources and the format of the assignment).
For this assignment you will need a total of 7 PRINT sources in your annotated bibliography.
That includes
▪ 1 scholarly journal article
▪ 1 magazine article
▪ 1 newspaper article
The other 4 articles can be any combination of the above.
These print sources must come from library databases, not from Google or a .com site.
If you are not familiar with library databases, so “Finding Print Sources.”
NO WORLD WIDE WEB SOURCES are to be in this annotated bibliography.
USE OF THESE SOURCES WILL AUTOMATICALLY GIVE THE ASSIGNMENT A ZERO.
ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY FORMAT
A bibliography is a listing of sources that were read but not necessarily used in a research
paper. When you annotate something, you are noting it. So an annotated bibliography is a list
of sources together with a short (4-5 sentences) summary of the content. It should include all
the main points of the article, even if they do not relate to your particular sub-topic. The idea
of this list is to give the reader an overview of the source in case he/she wants to read it.
GENERAL FORMAT

Begin with a title page. Put your title in bold, centered, and capitalized like a title (in this
case Annotated Bibliography). It should be 3 or 4 lines below the top margin. Skip one
double space and type your name, then on the next double space type the title of the
course. On the next double spaced line type your instructor’s name. On the next line
(double spaced) type the date. In the header at the right margin, type the page number.
(See the sample Annotated Bibliography)

The title of the page is Annotated Bibliography. It is centered like any title. It is also in
boldface.

The entire page is typed, double spaced, just like a Reference page.

Each entry begins with the citation. On the next line write the paragraph. Then move to
the next citation. There is no extra space between citations.

The citations are alphabetized like in the Reference page.

Each paragraph contains only the main points of the article. It does NOT include your
analysis of the content.

The first line of all citations is at the left margin and all other lines are indented one tab
(hanging indent).

The entire summary is indented one tab.
